During the school year, administrators, teachers, teacher assistants, and office personnel are required to follow a basic dress code. The purpose and intent of the dress code is to assure that the school system staff projects a professional image to the public as well as to the students.
All teachers and staff members are required to wear staff I.D. tags at all times while on school grounds.
If there are exceptions to the dress code, those will be handled on an
individual basis by the principal at each school. Exceptions might relate
to program areas, such as teachers who work in shop areas around equipment that
would prevent them from wearing ties or other articles of clothing that would
present a danger. Male teachers that do not wear a tie will be required
to wear an "approved staff uniform shirt".
Those teachers who teach P.E. and related courses that require them to wear gym outfits will be excluded from appropriate parts of the dress code while teaching in their program areas.
Female staff members are expected to dress professionally and may not wear jeans, shorts, jogging suits, or t-shirts. Skirts or dresses made of denim material are permissible.
Male staff members are expected to dress professionally and are required to wear ties or "approved staff uniform shirt" but may not wear jeans, shorts, jogging suits, or t-shirts.
Teachers may order staff uniform shirts from Ms. Vincent.
